As part of the Kedai Bukit Rhema team, we are always enthusiastic about welcoming schools that want to provide a different learning experience for their students. Once we arrived, we didn’t leave the students waiting long. After a short introduction and warm-up session guided by our professional facilitator, the adventure begins. We saw students who previously might have only gathered with their close friends, now starting to mingle.
1. Philosophy Behind “Collaboration Ball”
One of our flagship games is “Cooperation Ball”. As seen in the photo, the students were divided into small groups. Their task is simple but challenging: move a ball from one point to another using only two sticks held together.

Seems easy? Wait a minute. This game demands more than just physical skill. It’s hereeducationcharacter begins. They must:
- Communicate:“Slowly!” “Lift the right one a bit!” “Come on, walk together!” These little commandments are the essence of effective team communication.
- Be Patient and Focused:The ball will often fall. We saw some groups who were initially frustrated, but they learned not to blame each other. They take a breath, try again, and focus on the goal.
- Compactness:No one person can dominate. Everyone must move in the same rhythm. This is a beautiful lesson about how “together” we can.
The roar of laughter when the ball fell, and the cheers of victory when they reached the finish line, was the most beautiful music for us at Bukit Rhema.
2. The excitement of various team building games
Of course, programsout bondwe are not just one game. There are variousgamesthat we prepare to train different aspects. We called them “Wall Ball Games” and various circle games, which were actually metaphors for the challenges they would face.
In circle play, they learn the importance of listening to instructions, keeping a rhythm together, and trusting each other. We see how they hold each other’s hands, move in unison, and laugh together when someone makes a wrong move. There is no rigid “wrong” or “right”, there is only a learning processexciting.
For us, the Bukit Rhema team, these moments are priceless. Seeing children who were initially shy now dare to express their opinions in their groups. Seeing those who are usually individualists, are now happy to help their friends. This is the essence ofOuting Class in Magelangthat we offer.

3. Guided directly by professionals: Denmas Batik
We don’t play around in providing the best experience. For this batik workshop, we collaborated exclusively with professionals fromDenmas Batik. They are craftsmen and instructors who are not only technically skilled, but also very patient and capable in teaching children.
The students sat in groups, and in front of them there was now a white cloth attached to themfield(round frame). The Denmas Batik team painstakingly explained everything from the start. “This is his namecanting, brothers and sisters. ThisEvening(the wax) is already hot,” one instructor explained.
The students’ eyes looked amazed. Their tiny hands, which had previously been nimbly running around, were now carefully holding himcanting. They learn how to takeEveninghot, blow on it gently, and then ink it onto the fabric pattern.
This is a magical process. The room, which was previously noisy with the shouts of the game, has now changed to a concentrated silence. There was only a scraping soundcantingon the cloth and the gentle direction of the instructors. They are not “drawing”, they are “painting with wax”. They learn about patience, about thoroughness, and about respecting the process.

4. You can take home your proud work!
The best part of a job is seeing the results. After processsing(making batik with canting) is complete, the Denmas Batik team helps with the coloring process andlorod(wax removal).
And… voila!
The ultimate momentexcitingis when students look at their own work. The plain white cloth has now turned into a bright red batik cloth with beautiful motifs whose patterns they have painted withEvening.
Pride was clearly visible on their faces. They lined up in the grounds of Bukit Rhema, with a view in the backgroundnaturalgreen hills, holding high the results of their work. A heartwarming sight.
And of course, as per our promise,The batik results can be taken home. This is not just a souvenir. This is a trophy. A proof that they have learned something new, have succeeded in conquering challenges (both physical challenges in the fieldout bondor the challenge of patience at the batik table), and have a work to remember.
Sweet Memories at the Bukit Rhema Prayer House
As the end of the seriesOuting Class in MagelangThis doesn’t feel complete without capturing the moment at our main icon. We invited students and teachers from SD Negeri Tidar 1 Magelang to take a group photo in front of the magnificent Bukit Rhema Prayer House building, which is often nicknamed “Chicken Church”.
Under a clear sky, with a smile still wide, this photo is a silent witness to a day full of adventure, learning and laughter.
For us, the Kedai Bukit Rhema Team, that day was a great success. We have provided more than just a place. We provide experience. SD Negeri Tidar 1 Magelang has proven that their students are extraordinary: tough when playing, focused when creating.
